Staying curious
Hi, I'm André König.
AI will change how organizations work. I want that change to be a good one. So I spend my days rethinking how work moves between people and machines, and building the software that carries it.
Staying curious is how I ended up spending two decades with high-scale distributed systems: building them, consulting on them, and training the engineering teams that run them. All of that comes in handy now that agents need guardrails, because software that acts on your behalf needs even better engineering than software that waits for your input.
Today I build my own tools in the open and help companies find the places where AI genuinely makes work better, not just busier. I do this via my company, Open Formation.
Current Projects
- Cave, a Cloud-first Agent Orchestrator that you can deploy on your own infrastructure.
- Kung-Fu, a headless harness for running and observing AI-agent workflows in a predictable way
- Usher, a self-hosted credential broker that gives agents scoped, auditable access to the systems they need without spreading long-lived secrets
- Loom, a personal data lake platform for collecting, connecting, and making personal context useful across tools and agents
Latest Collaborations
I work hands-on, embedded in the team rather than advising from the sidelines. The goal is always the same: stable and scalable systems in production, and people who can run them without me.
- OpenAI
Built web gyms: training environments where AI agents learn to operate the real-world web.
- Amazon AGI Labs
Rehearsal spaces for web-operating agents: realistic sites, realistic tasks, and room to fail safely.
- AXS Germany
Moved their large-scale ticketing system from their own data centers into a new home on the Google Cloud Platform.
